A lot of the locations from the first chapter of the Wormworld Saga are referenced from my personal experience. Grannies old farmhouse closely resembles the home of my brother's family. Even the dog existed there at the time when I created this artwork. The mood and colors in this artwork are heavily inspired by the Miyazaki movie "My Neighbor Totoro".
