A few months ago I developed an obsession with voxel artwork. The more recent versions of MagicaVoxel allow to construct massive structures that go far beyond the "cute" look that I used to associate with voxels. At some point I decided that I'd have to create my own voxel scene to get over my obsession. In order to spare me any concept work I chose to depict a scene from my graphic novel "The Wormworld Saga". My voxel diorama depicts the Great Celebration from Chapter 5 of the Wormworld Saga, showing how the people of Ankal Aasha sacrifice their idol to the River of Life. The image is 100% rendered in MagicaVoxel with some light Photoshop compositing. This diorama took me about 48 hours to build and I think I'm over voxels now. At least for the time being. :)
